Little Purple Riding Hood

IMG_7050Red is so overrated. This purple velvet fabric was to be a regular cape but my customer changed her mind to a “Little Red Riding Hood” style hooded cape afterwards. I used Fleece Fun’s Red Riding Hood Pattern for child. You can print her children’s red riding hood pattern at home and and easily put it together with her instructions. Once I cut the fabric, the cape was ready in less than an hour.

IMG_7060I kept it simple and didn’t sew a lining in it. I added a wide purple ribbon to tie the cape. When she wants to wear the cape, she changes into a purple ensemble from head to toe.

IMG_7055This wasn’t her Halloween costume. She wears it for pretend play: Adventures of Batman and Little Purple Riding Hood.

Angel, Thanks for stopping by. I’ll definitely sew another one for my niece, now that I know how easy your pattern and instructions make it to sew the cape. Thanks,

I am a mother of two and a type of person who you would call “Jack of all trades, master of none”. As you might guess from categories, I love my children, reading, sewing, gardening, traveling and cooking. I also work full time so I have to be practical to do all the things I want to do in a 24-hr-day. More About Me
