Our school’s fundraising organization organizes a fundraiser called “WinterFest” featuring a craft fair and a cookie walk every holiday season. This year the organizers decided to invite students instead of adult crafters to sell their wares at WinterFest. My daughter immediately wanted to register even though she didn’t know exactly what she would make and sell. But she was very excited because crafting and making is her world. After a detailed research, she decided to make DIY homemade bath bombs and bath salts.

During her research, she looked for DIY bath bomb recipes in order to make homemade bath bombs looked, felt, smelled and worked like store bought ones. She tried multiple batches with various recipes before she made sure she had a foolproof recipe. She wrote the recipe down in her craft notebook. While molding she failed few times before finally making solid bath bombs that didn’t crumble.

She did most of the mixing and molding by herself with occasional help from me for the procurement of the ingredients and her brother for an extra hand while mixing the liquids into the dry mixture. Once the recipe was finalized, she wanted to film how to make bath bombs for her youtube channel Sparkle Studio.

She made 6 different selections of various fragrance (essential oils) and color combinations for the fair. We packaged and labeled them using her Youtube brand logo. She sold all her bath bombs and half of the bath salts at the WinterFest. The whole fair was full of amazing crafts and creations by students.

You can watch the recipe and step by step instructions in her video with the exact measurement and an important tip to make sure the mixture molds firmly and doesn’t crumble. This recipe makes 3 bath bombs using 2.56″ bath bomb molds. You can double the recipe to make 6 bath bombs.

I am a mother of two and a type of person who you would call “Jack of all trades, master of none”. As you might guess from categories, I love my children, reading, sewing, gardening, traveling and cooking. I also work full time so I have to be practical to do all the things I want to do in a 24-hr-day. More About Me
